He has a bachelor's degree in Popular Music from Unicamp with a specialization in Creative Processes from Faculdade Souza Lima.

The standard-bearer for Brazilian Choro music, Penezzi recently launched an online school for students to learn to play Choro with him as a teacher.

He has worked in several countries around the world such as the USA, UK, Japan, Russia, Gabon, Angola, Italy, Germany, Holland, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Morocco, Portugal, Cape Verde, among others.

His songs have been recorded by artists such as Beth Carvalho, Yamandú Costa, Danilo Brito, Bruno Moritz, Dexter Payne, Brian Silber, Regional de NY. He participated in Violões do Brasil, a project dedicated to Brazilian guitar masters, and opened Wayne Shorter's show at the 30th edition of the Skopje Jazz Festival in Macedonia.

In 2017, the great North American flutist Jane Lenoir and Penezzi released an album, performing only Penezzi’s music.

Jane Lenoir has performed with the Oakland Symphony, Ballet and Opera, San Jose Symphony, SF Opera, SF Ballet, San Francisco Chamber Music Society, and University of California Contemporary Chamber Players. She is the principal flute of the Music in the Mountains Orchestra and appears regularly as a soloist at the festival.

For the past 8 years, Jane has been involved with Brazilian music and other Latin flute styles, and was a founding member of the Berkeley Choro Ensemble, co-director of the Berkeley Festival of Choro. In 2017, two albums of Brazilian music were produced: Jane Lenoir plays Penezzi, with composer and 7-string guitarist Alessandro Penezzi, São Paulo, Brazil, and The View from Here, with Berkeley Choro Ensemble, featuring the music of contemporary Brazilian composers.

Jane is on the faculty of San Domenico School Conservatory of Music in San Anselmo and has taught at the SF Conservatory of Music, Cazadero Performing Arts Summer Chamber Music Workshop, National Flute Association Conventions, and conducted workshops in the US and Europe. Full Bio Here.
