Rev. Linda Lane-Bortell, Pastor
The Rev. Linda Lane-Bortell is a graduate of UC Irvine and Princeton Theological Seminary, and is currently a student at San Francisco Theological Seminary pursuing a Doctor of Ministry. Linda has been a minister for 27 years at churches large and small in New Jersey, Illinois, and California. Linda is currently the pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church in Terra Linda, CA. Linda is married to Tim, a pastor in San Francisco, and they have two children, Amber and Sean.

Christ Presbyterian Church offers a wide variety of music every week from congregational hymn sings, anthems from our traditional church choir and our praise choir, guest instrumental musicians, vocal soloists, jazz band, classical piano, and occasionally you will hear the organ.
Steven holds an MFA in Jazz Studies from the California Institute of the Arts. He is a pianist, vocalist, composer, and educator and has worked extensively as a performer. Steven has a wide-ranging background, including as a chorister and section leader with the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, as well as accompanist roles with the Pacific Boy Choir, Peninsula Cantare Community Choir, and as Music Director of the Sophia Rose Community Choir. We welcome Steve to CPC and look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration.

Please welcome Sibel Demirmen as she begins her new role at CPC as Choir Director. Hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as a “superb singer with a crystalline voice”, Sibel Demirmen is a versatile soprano frequently performing in the Bay Area. She has sung with many Bay Area companies including Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Townsend Opera Players, Berkeley Opera, West Marin Players, Ross Valley Players, Marin Musical Theatre Company, Marin Baroque, Thick Description, City Opera SF and was a member of Goat Hall Productio n’s The Kurt Weill Project . Leading roles include Kate in Kiss me Kate, Rosabella in The Most Happy Fella, Josephine in H.M.S Pinafore , Zerlina in Don Giovanni , Oscar in Un Ballo in Maschera , Lisa in La Sonnambula , Gretel in Hansel und Gretel , Yum Yum in The Mikado , Mabel in Pirates of Penzance , Adina in Elixir of Love , and Adele in Die Fledermaus.An avid performer of new works, Ms. Demirmen debuted and recorded the role of Maria in David Conte’s opera Amer ica Tropical . She frequently performs contemporary works with Contemporary Opera Marin. Ms. Demirmen is a soloist at Rodef Shalom in San Rafael, teaches music at Sausalito Nursery School, maintains a private music studio and has been a staff singer at Christ Presbyterian Church for the past six years. She lives in San Rafael with her husband and two children.
We welcome Parker Grant who will be joining the Music Team as Music Accompanist. Parker Grant is a jazz pianist and educator based out of Oakland. A Bay Area native from Lafayette, California, he is also an alumnus of the University of Miami, where he studied with Martin Bejerano. When not studying or performing music, he is an avid reader and walker. We are so happy to have Parker on our staff.
We also welcome Sean Lane-Bortell who will join the Music Team as Apprentice Accompanist.
